Built by Birders. The Gitbirds! Story
It started with a simple idea in the back of a Tacoma: finding the right birding trip should be easier than finding a Bristle-thighed Curlew in the Amazon. GitBirds! is here to simplify options and connect you with right group.
Hi, I'm Nate. I’m a wildlife field biologist who’s spent more time sleeping in a tent than in a proper bed, chased birds all over the world, and ingested more cups of coffee than any one human should in a lifetime. I started GitBirds! because trying to book a good birding trip online sucks. You end up with twenty tabs open, half the websites look like they were designed by a high school kid in the late 90s, and it’s anyone’s guess what you’re actually getting, or if you’ll even get a response!
I figured there had to be a better way, so I made one. GitBirds! is here to make it easier for birders to find solid trips without sifting through the bowels of the internet. And it’s a place for small tour companies to actually get seen without throwing cash into the void of algorithmic internet ads that will probably be displayed only on some Midwest mom’s recipe blog about quinoa fritters.
This site is for the bird nerds, the travel junkies, and the companies doing it right. GitBirds! started as a way to make birding travel easier, but it’s also here to help the people running great trips actually get seen. If you’re a birding tour operator or guide, we’d love to have you on board. Here’s how GitBirds can help your business.
